SYSTEMS FOR PUNKS is roleplaying game system for running games in the cyberpunk genre.

WORK IN PROGRESS: This is a work in progress. It is 100% playable as is and has been playtested. Likely more systems will be added over time. The intent is to keep these systems modular so that you can choose the ones that suit your table best.

WHY: I wrote it because I needed something that works for my own cyberpunk adventures, also available in this library. Meant for short games.

Existing systems didn't work for me because either they're too mechanically narrative driven (like the many fine Forged in the Dark and Powered by the Apocalypse games), too heroic in scale (Fate), or too clunky in old school simulationist ways (Shadowrun, or the grandaddy of the genre, Cyberpunk 2.0.2.0., or its fresh version, Cyberpunk RED). I wanted something fast to play without losing the taste of mechanical consequences & weight of choices.

HOW IT PLAYS: The game is built around a simple D6 dice pool. Only the highest result counts: there's little to no math involved.

SETTING: You can use this with any cyberpunk setting you like. The game doesn't come with a setting. Though the mechanics imply some things about the setting (life is cheap, violence is everywhere), I've made an attempt to stay in middle of the road cyberpunk themes.

There are no gear or cyberware lists, even though the mechanics for the same are provided.

ADDITIONAL MATERIAL: This game is designed to be used with specific scenarios: the rules as presented don't cover any character motivation, psychology, or relationships.

I have released two such scenarios:
MRS. WONG'S BETTER THAN REAL PORK CHOPS in which a street gang gets out of jail, leeches cyberspace access
OUTSIDE, LOOKING IN in which a nomad crew needs to get into the big city
Creating your own scenarios is straightforward.

Separate character sheet is available in this library.
